New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Pesticide Control

NJ.A.C. 7:30 State pesticide regulations were revised April 6, 2020. Govern the manufacture, distribution, and use of pesticides in New Jersey. Subchapter 8 Private Pesticide Applicator Certification & Licensing; Subchapter 9 Exposure Management; and Subchapter 12 Worker Protection (including revisions for parity with federal WPS).

The Pesticide Applicator Certification Exam Registration (PACER) system

NJDEP’s approved third party exam administration system managed by the Rutgers NJAES Office of Continuing Professional Education (OCPE). PACER online exam application portal. Set up account and apply for exams 24/7. When you create an online account, you will have an online “Dashboard” to track your exam(s).

Payment for exams is required prior to approval; approval turnaround is approximately 48 hours. The fee to take the Private applicator exam is $50 each; commercial applicator CORE and category exams are $135 each (effective 3/1/2024). Payment by credit card, electronic checking, or Purchase Order.

Pesticide exams may now be taken online 24/7. See in‐person exam schedule at PACER website. Exams have a maximum time allotment of 1 hour 45 minutes. New Jersey Department of Agriculture Division of Agricultural and Natural Resources: Agricultural Recycling Programs

Pesticide container disposal is offered to agricultural, professional, and commercial pesticide applicators who hold a NJDEP pesticide license. One core credit will be given to pesticide license holders who follow required processing steps and bring their license with them at time of collection. Requires mailing in completed recycling form to NJDA in postage paid envelope.

The program accepts non‐refillable, high‐density polyethylene #2 (HDPE) containers that are no larger than 55 gallons and that have been triple rinsed. For more details on recycling requirements, scheduling, and locations, see the NJDA webpage. Pesticide Educational Resources Collaborative (PERC)

Develops or coordinates the development of pesticide education resources  with online  access for Worker  Protection  Standard compliance. Houses both EPA‐approved and non‐approved resources.

 

National Pesticides Safety Education Center (NPSEC)

NPSEC Online store for pesticide publications including EPA 2015 Revised WPS manuals, DVDs, thumb drives, bundles, and respiratory protection resources. Order laminated WPS Pesticide Safety Posters for Central Posting Area. Multi‐lingual resources.

National Pesticide Information Center (NPIC)
